Emerald Impact Services

Are you interested in Research Impact but not sure how to bring all of your ideas together? Do you wish there was an easy way to create an impact action plan and identify areas of focus? Would you like access to impact learning materials on different elements (working with partners, policy, evidencing) that you can explore at your own pace online?

We are now offering access to a new online system, Emerald Impact Services, that offers a suite of resources to support realising impact from your research. This includes an Impact Planner, which helps you to view your research from a range of different perspectives, generate an action plan, and track your collaborations. The Planner is accompanied by a comprehensive set of learning materials, ranging from audience engagement and effective dissemination, to stakeholder engagement and evidencing impact. More information can be found in the attached brochure and on this internal webpage. The system was co-created with two leading figures in research impact, Dr Julie Bayley and Dr David Phipps.

Our subscription to Emerald is currently on a trial basis for a limited number of staff users within HaSS. We are therefore seeking expressions of interest from colleagues across the HaSS Faculty who would benefit from having access to these resources between 1st November 2022 and 31st October 2023. Interested colleagues should complete the short online form no later than Friday 21 October and we will share registration processes with successful applicants with ten working days of this deadline. Registered applicants will agree to the expectations detailed in the attached document, including providing feedback on their experience of the system. Please send any queries to hass.researchteam@newcastle.ac.uk.
