Engagement & Place Awards 2023

This is the third year of delivering the awards which are intended to celebrate the work of colleagues (including professional services) from across the University who are collaborating with many different publics in many different ways, ensuring that the benefits of our research and teaching go beyond the University.

Following last year’s awards we carried out a full evaluation of the process, criteria and categories with the judging panel and as a result have made some changes for this year’s call.

The categories for the Engagement and Place Awards reflect the six areas of our Engagement and Place Strategy;

  • Engaging for Inclusive Economic Growth
  • Engaging for Health, Well-being and Societal benefit
  • Engaging Globally
  • Engaging for Cultural benefit
  • Engaging with Policy and Practice
  • Inclusive Education & Life Long Learning & CPD

With the addition of an Early Career Researcher award which recognises the inspiring public engagement work undertaken by researchers in the early stages of their research careers, either doctoral students or early career researchers (i.e post-docs in their first two years in post).
