Workshop on Working Together on Research Funding Bids
We would like to invite you to join us at a Workshop on Working Together on Research Funding Bids on 6th June from 0900-1300 in The Learning Lab (HDB 1.06), Henry Daysh Building.
Programme
09:00-09:30: Teas, coffees and & pastries
9:30-09:45: Welcome and introduction (Alex Hughes and Lorraine Smith)
9:45-11:00: Panel Session with Q&A on examples and experiences of collaborative working
- How did your collaboration begin?
- How did the funding bid get up and running?
- What were the challenges of putting the collaborative bid together?
- What were the best things to come out of it?
(Confirmed panellists: Cat Button, Susannah Eckersley, Diana Gregory-Smith, Chris Hackney, Peter Hopkins, Darren McCauley, Vivek Nityananda, Jenny Richards, Tiago Sousa-Garcia and Sam Turner)
11:00-12:15: Roundtable Lounge (three 25-minute small group sessions)
Participants choose (at registration stage) three small group sessions from the following list of themes:
- a) Assembling the team
- b) Working on the costings (led by Tom Martin, Kerry Dodds, and Kim McCartney)
- c) Co-writing the proposal
- d) Working in interdisciplinary teams
- e) Working with the institutes and NUCoRES
- f) Working with non-academic partners
- g) Working in teams across different universities
- h) Working to project deliverables
- i) Other (please suggest)
12:15-12:30: Plenary: support for collaborative funding bids
12:30-13:00: Buffet lunch
