Organisational Development (OD) is delighted to announce the launch of the Research Project Leads Development Programme – an initiative meticulously crafted to nurture the leadership capabilities of those leading research endeavours.
Designed by the Researcher Development Team in OD, this programme is strategically tailored to offer support, guidance, and resources for Project Leads who have recently assumed leadership of research teams and projects or are on the verge of undertaking such responsibilities. It is an initiative crafted to nurture the leadership capabilities of those leading research endeavours, more commonly known as Principal Investigators (PIs).
Our workshops, led by experienced facilitators, cover essential topics ranging from mastering research storytelling to effectively leading cohesive teams. Participating will equip you with the necessary skills and strategies to excel in your leadership role.
What to expect from the Research Project Leads Development Programme:
Collaboration: Together, you will embark on a journey of learning, collaboration, and mutual support with twenty-four other Project Leads from various fields across our university.
Enhance Your Leadership Skills: Acquire the necessary skills to drive successful research projects and teams. Through interactive workshops and real-world case studies, you will develop the confidence and competence needed to lead with efficacy and inspire your team towards excellence.
Increase Impact: Learn how to increase the visibility and impact of your research. In an increasingly competitive academic landscape, it’s crucial to amplify the reach and significance of your work. Through tailored strategies in communication, networking, and dissemination, you will learn how to maximise the influence of your research within your field and beyond.
Overcome Challenges: Develop strategies to overcome challenges commonly encountered by new project leads. Leading research projects can be fraught with obstacles, from managing resources and navigating administrative processes to fostering team cohesion and navigating unexpected setbacks. By sharing experiences and insights with your peers and expert facilitators, you will build a toolkit of effective strategies to tackle these challenges head-on, ensuring the success of your projects.
