Generating Impact in Horizon Europe Projects

Speaker:  Professor Steve Quarrie

Steve has been a visiting professor at Newcastle university almost continuously since 2003. He was employed by the Serbian Ministry of Science to help Serbian scientists improve their success rate with project proposals, mainly for FP7. He continues to provide support to Serbian researchers with proposals for EU-funded projects through training courses and consultations with the Belgrade-based NGO European Training Academy. Steve is a long-standing collaborator of Matt Gorton (Professor of Marketing), having worked together on four EU-funded multi-partner international projects, with the latest one starting April 2026.

Abstract:

Steve will discuss the impact section of Horizon Europe proposals, what evaluators are looking for, routes to impact, giving examples from his and others’ projects.
