Congratulations to Dr Arijit De who recently had his research paper published in a journal “International Journal of Production Economics”.

The title of the paper is “Multi-period Multi-echelon Inventory Transportation Problem considering Stakeholders Behavioural Tendencies“.

The research work presents a novel mathematical model for inventory transportation problem for a planning horizon while taking into consideration multiple echelons, several product types and different transportation modes. A heuristic approach has been proposed in the research which comprises of four algorithms related to behavioural tendencies of various stakeholders in decision making process for shipment route selection, transportation mode choice decisions and products to be shipped. Fifteen practical problem instances are solved for validating the model and heuristic approach and insights obtained from results will help organizations in making informed decisions related to transportation planning while considering stakeholders behavioural tendencies.
