Advance Notice of Water4All European Partnership First Joint Transnational Call

The European Partnership Water Security for the Planet (Water4All) is one of the new co-funded partnerships under Horizon Europe. It is one of eight future European partnerships with centre of gravity within Cluster 6 of Pillar II (Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment). The partnership was co-proposed by the European Water platforms (Water JPI, Water Europe, EUREAU, Aqua Publica Europea, EURAQUA, European Water Alliance and WaterCampus Leeuwarden).

In support of the European Green Deal and EU water-related policies, the European Commission’s vision for Water4All is:

‘Boosting the systemic transformations and changes across the entire research – water innovation pipeline, fostering matchmaking between problem owners and solution providers to ensure water security for all in the long term’.

This first Water4All joint transnational call is for research and innovation projects on ‘management of water resources for increased resilience, adaptation and mitigation to hydroclimatic extreme events’.

Topics included in the Call are as follows:

  • Resilience, adaptation and mitigation to hydroclimatic extreme events.
  • Tools for water management in the context of hydroclimatic extreme events.
  • Improved water governance in the context of hydroclimatic extreme events and international contexts.

The participating countries are Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and United Kingdom.

The Call is expected to launch mid-February with an initial call for pre-proposals, which will have a deadline for submissions in April/May 2022. This will be followed by an invitation for successful candidates to submit a full proposal by the end of August 2022.

The information provided by the Water4All Partnership for this first joint transnational call is provisional and subject to the approval of the Water4All partnership by the European Commission.
