Wellbeing Wednesday – Safe Taxi Scheme

Welcome to the current edition of the Business School Wellbeing Wednesday. This week we are shining a spotlight on the Safe Taxi Scheme.

As well as providing a reminder about the support available each week, we will also shine a spotlight on a different university support service.

Spotlight on…Safe Taxi Scheme

We have collaborated with Newcastle University Students’ Union to provide students with a ‘Safe Taxi Scheme’.

If you are stranded with no money to get home but have your student card with you, you can use the service by calling Budget Taxis on 0191 298 5050 and quoting reference NEW02.

You will be asked for your name and student number and will need to provide this before a taxi is booked.

The driver will not need to keep your Smart Card. The safe taxi scheme can be accessed at any time and will cover the cost of up to an £8 fare. The Students’ Union will contact students who have accessed this service.

Find out more about safety and reporting.
