Summary

This session will introduce you to open research across the research lifecycle and the services and expertise offered by the Library Research Services team to guide our researchers through the cycle. It will give you an overview of Open Research, Research Data Management and Open Access publishing, explaining the benefits of these practices, as well as a look at the other services we support.

 

Target Audience

Professional Service colleagues in a research-related role.

 

Learning Objectives

At the end of this module, workshop participants will be able to:

·         Be aware of the research cycle and where, how and why open research practices can be applied/adopted.

·         Recognise the importance of responsible and transparent research data management.

·         Understand open access publishing, its benefits and how it can be achieved.

·         Understand funder and institutional expectations and requirements relating to open access.

·         Know about copyright and licencing in relation to open research.

·         Describe our repository infrastructure and be able to identify the appropriate one for a particular need.
