Lesson Plan: “The archaeologist Giancarlo” is a sequence of lessons set within the context of early algebra. The lessons involve interpreting, comparing and discussing different representations (verbal, symbolic, graphical) of a relationship between two variables.

Summary
This activity is framed within the context of early algebra. It is aimed at guiding students: (a) to interpret, compare and discuss three verbal representations of relations between two variables; (b) to interpret and construct symbolic representations of relations; (c) to interpret graphical representations of relations; (d) to carry out conversions between different representation registers (verbal, symbolic, graphical).
