Lesson Plan: A problem-solving activity about understanding the ratio concept and mathematical reasoning.

Subject: Mathematics.
Age of students: 11-14 years.
Hardware: Tablets (iPad 1 per class or student).
Software: Socrative or Classflow + Apple airserver,
OR Showme and Reflector,
OR Plickers.

Time needed: 2-3 hours.

Summary:
This lesson is intended to help you assess how well students are able to solve a real-world modeling problem. There are several correct approaches to the problem, including some that involve proportional relationships.
